As a partner in the Business Services division of HLB Mann Judd, Geoff Webster is highly sought after by both private and public companies as a trusted and highly astute business adviser.
Earlier in his career, Geoff forged a highly successful career with KPMG where he developed significant expertise in the areas of audit, corporate advisory and consultancy.
He also spent time as the ANZ Bank’s senior auditor of IT systems, during which time he gained considerable knowledge of the broad banking sector, and more particularly, of commercial finance and lending. This personal and immediate knowledge has proved invaluable in providing clients with various advice in the preparation and negotiation of finance and lending arrangements with both top-tier and middle-tier financial institutions.
In 1984, Geoff joined a chartered accounting practice established in 1978 by Peter Meyrick. Known then as Meyrick Webster, the firm has subsequently transformed into HLB Mann Judd. Geoff has been instrumental, as Managing Partner for over 14 years, in building the practice into a highly respected professional services provider
Known as a highly accessible and approachable practitioner, Geoff has built an enviable reputation as someone who can view commercial transactions from both a vendor and purchaser perspective. It is this ability – combined with an in-depth knowledge of tax and corporations laws and regulations – that has allowed him to successfully complete numerous complex business transactions on behalf of clients. This includes the acquisition of private businesses by publicly listed groups, where a critical element to the success of the transaction has been deep understanding and appreciation of the taxation consequences for all parties to the transaction.
