With over two decades management consulting experience, John Coulson is widely recognised as an experienced and highly capable practitioner.
John has assisted both private and public groups across a wide range of industry sectors, with a particular focus on strategic business planning, import and export issues, information technology, product commercialisation, contract management and tender evaluation support.
John is particularly concerned with start-up businesses and how to assist these businesses to establish strong and sustainable footholds both in domestic and international markets. In this respect, John possesses significant experience in assisting groups to commercialise products for sale in international markets.
This experience includes assisting numerous Australian small and medium enterprises to break into major overseas markets such as the United States, with his assistance covering areas such as strategic direction setting and market entry planning, applications for federal and state government funding (including R&D grants), prospect identification, information and management systems, and sales and marketing support.
For one client alone, John has spent the past four years in assisting the organisation to successfully penetrate the highly competitive information and communication technology (ICT) sector and to compete convincingly against two dominant market leaders in the North American market.
John is recognised as a technically astute practitioner, capable of delivering tailored and practical outcomes to clients. In particular, he is known for his persistence when working with clients to break into new markets.
