Director
Tax Consulting
Bill Nussbaum started his career in 1982 as a graduate with accountancy firm Priestley & Morris, which later merged with HLB Mann Judd in 1993. He became a Director of the firm in 2006.
Bill has built a considerable level of experience in working closely with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) over many years. In particular, he has worked closely with small family-owned businesses and high net worth individuals, and advised them on a range of issues, especially in relation to regulatory and taxation issues. In relation to family-owned businesses, this has included developing ownership and succession structures, an area that is often problematic and requires a diplomatic and client-focused approach.
His work for family-owned businesses has often extended into the development of family trusts, fixed investment trusts, deceased estates and testamentary trusts, with much of this work centering on taxation arrangements and compliance.
Bill’s work has also included work for larger businesses, such as an assignment for a large airline carrier that involved a review of accounting and taxation issues resulting from a restructuring of the group’s Australian operations.
With a high level of expertise in the legal, healthcare, merchandising, entertainment and air transport sectors, Bill has built a strong reputation for developing a thorough understanding of his clients’ businesses and the circumstances that are most particular to those businesses, and developing and implementing practical solutions to often complex requirements. He is a client-focused practitioner who brings both a friendly and commercial approach to his work
