Matthew Gardiner began his accounting career in 1987 with McCullough & Associates, which merged with HLB Mann Judd in 1990.
Matthew is a widely experienced professional with strong, specific expertise in working closely with small to medium sized businesses and in particular, family owned and operated businesses.
A passionate and committed practitioner, Matthew’s work has seen him develop long standing relationships with clients over many years, including:
- detailed work on behalf of a financial services advisory firm covering compliance, taxation and corporate secretarial services. Later, his work with this firm included the development of strict controls and in particular, assist the business’ Responsible Entity to deliver a better standard of corporate governance. Assisting the directors in the proper structuring of their business affairs and in particular, structuring their equity interests in the business.
- working with several law firms and assisting them across various issues including the development of internal controls, recruitment, finance and partner involvement
- assisting an importer and wholesaler of plumbing supplies with its accounting requirements, employment planning, forecasting and cash flow budgets. This work has most recently included assisting the business to successfully sustain growth through the global financial crisis
Matthew is highly regarded for his ability to develop strong and long-term client relationships. He is responsive to client needs and committed to their interests.
A highly experienced practitioner, he is currently a course coordinator and facilitator for the Business Services School of the Australasian Chartered Accounting Training Group.
