Valuable: Worth working with

At HLB Mann Judd we recognise that our employees are our most valuable asset and are always looking for ways to improve the way we do business with both our staff and with our clients.

Creative Ideas
We understand that many great ideas come from our staff which is why we have established the concept of  "A Creative Idea" where staff are able to email through their ideas to "A Creative Idea" email address, where it is then sent to the appropriate division for consideration.

A Creative Idea can be in relation to any aspect of the firm; it may be an improvement to a process to increase efficiency, heighten employee engagement; increase our contribution to corporate social responsibility, or be in relation to firm social activities.

Staff Survey
We are always striving towards best practice and looking for ways to improve our current processes and increase employee engagement. Our annual staff satisfaction is designed to gain valuable feedback on what the Firm is doing right, what we can improve on, and what our employees would like to see in the future.

Policies and Procedures
Our policies and procedures are a reflection of the flexible and supportive culture we have developed in Sydney such as our Flexible hours policy, Paid parental leave and TOIL provisions.

Health & Wellbeing
The Firm provides annual flu shots and health screens for all our staff and an Employee Assistance Program, which is a confidential counselling and support service for all employees.

Our staff also have access to corporate health plans through BUPA, as well as discounted travel insurance through Chartis Insurance.

Our break out areas which have stunning views over the harbour bridge, are supplied with a variety of fresh fruit and biscuits, as well as their own espresso machine.

Accessible: Easy to work with

Our culture here in Sydney is very much a team environment, where the door is always open and everyone knows each others name.

One of the main advantages of working within a mid-tier Firm, are the opportunities to work alongside peers at all levels, and develop relationships with a variety of clients across a range of industries.

Most of our staff are paired with a Mentor upon commencement. The Mentor will normally have a few years more experience than the Mentee and is from a different division. We find the program to be extremely beneficial as gives the opportunity for our experienced staff to become involved in the Career development of others, whilst giving the Mentee the opportunity to increase their knowledge and professional development, as well as gain some insight into the culture and the unwritten rules of the Firm.

The ensure regular communication between the Mentor and Mentee, the Firm allows a reimbursement up to $50 for the Mentors to take their Mentee to lunch up to once a month.

Career Plans
The Firm has a transparent Learning and Development system in place for staff at all levels. We also support the development of our Senior executive team through an external coaching program to form career plans and develop leadership skills.

Secondment and Travel Opportunities
We encourage our staff to broaden their professional experience and, where possible, offer them the opportunity to work in other offices around Australia or in overseas offices of our world-wide network. With offices in more than 100 countries in the world, this provides an accountant with unlimited possibilities to work and travel.

Community and Corporate Responsibility
We make every effort to support the wider community when we can, through fundraisers, morning teas, and incorporating charity into our team building events. Some of the causes that our Firm has been involved with include:
