The HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association has created the new role of Director of Financial Reporting, and appointed Michelle Warren to the position, based in Melbourne.
Ms Warren will oversee all financial reporting matters within the network, including implementing a national technical consultation process, quality monitoring, training, and providing technical accounting advice as required.
Tony Fittler, chairman of the HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association, said the new role will allow HLB member firms to better assist and support clients.
“The continuing changes to the legislative and regulatory environment, and the increasing demands of the accounting standards framework, mean that our clients must spend more time on developing and reporting financial information than ever before. Michelle’s focus on financial reporting, as well as her experience in audit, will be invaluable in supporting our clients manage these challenges.
“Following the recent growth of the HLB Mann Judd network, including expansion into Fiji and Newcastle earlier this year, it is also important for the Association to be able to offer an additional level of support for member firms,” Mr Fittler said.
Ms Warren has over 11 years’ experience in audit, primarily with Grant Thornton South Africa. Her clients have included a range of businesses, from small companies to large privately owned companies and listed entities, in a number of industries including manufacturing, real estate, hospitality, information technology, professional services and media.
She was most recently with Century Plaza Group in Melbourne, where she was Group Financial Reporting Manager. Ms Warren holds a bachelor of commerce and accounting sciences from the University of Pretoria. She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
